These children in the West African country of Togo are among the first to benefit from a new type of health campaign aimed at reducing child deaths in Africa.
The challenge:
- to reach nearly one million children in a week with four health interventions at once.

In less than five minutes, the young girl receives de- worming medicine to expel intestinal worms; two drops of polio vaccine; and a shot to protect against measles.
